Statement from Maltings Academy 16 May 2013

It is with great sadness that I can confirm the untimely death of one of our female Year 9 students who sadly passed away late last night.

She was a popular student at Maltings Academy, well liked and respected by students and teachers.

We ask that the privacy of the family is respected at this time and offer our deepest condolences to all who knew her.

Message from the Principal

Image: John SzynalAt Maltings Academy our aim is to create a centre of excellence with a clear focus on students being happy and having the opportunity to succeed both in the academic arena and in extra-curricular activities. We place great emphasis on 'Discipline with Dignity', in order to foster a supportive and friendly atmosphere for each individual, which will help them develop into responsible members of the community who have high aspirations and a belief in their own abilities.

"We have a wonderful opportunity for new beginnings and as Principal, my expectations are for people to be happy in the academy, for everyone to be polite, smile and be courteous at all times (holding doors open is a prime example), and ‘To make our best better’."

We would be delighted for you to visit the Academy to see our pleasant, vibrant, disciplined environment.
