STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) Club is aimed at KS3 students in years 7, 8 and 9 (although everyone is welcome!) who are interested in working on fun and interesting STEM projects outside of the school curriculum. Every July we organise STEM activities to engage and inspire students but we also run a weekly club throughout the year.
Each week we run mini projects that challenge students to solve a problem using design and creative thought. As the year progresses, the projects become bigger, longer term and larger scale. Plans are already underway for long term projects in the next school year, these include: Bloodhound SSC rocket car competitions, Raytheon Quadcopter competitions, LEGO mind storms projects and sending a Maltings weather balloon into space!
If any of this interests you (and why wouldn't it!?) come along to STEM Club, Wednesdays, room 111 with Mr Bullock and Mr Graham.
