Maltings Academy Parent Council

Thank you for taking time to look us up on the website and we hope you will find the information and updates useful as a parent.

The Parent council was formed earlier as a desire of the Principal Mike O’Sullivan and we were asked to volunteer to form the original council, we currently have 20 parents who attend. We meet up every 6/8 weeks, in the evening over a coffee and review all items that have been added to the agenda.

The Parent Council is open to any parent and we would welcome you to any of the future meetings which are listed in this section. You are welcome to just come along and listen to what goes on or if you have something you would like to add to the agenda and come along and discuss it, then just get in touch via the website and we will ensure it’s added.

The meetings are a great opportunity for us as parents to engage with the Academy on all matters regarding our children’s education and welfare. We also like to think we are adding value to the academy in liaising directly with the Principal and Governors when appropriate.

At the meetings we also have support from the teaching staff in the form of Assistant Principal Daren White who helps us in any topics we may discuss or require action on and reports back to the Academy Leadership Team on our behalf.

You will find in this section we record all our recent minutes and agenda’s as well as all the dates for the future meetings. If you can not or would prefer not to attend, but would like an item added to the agenda for the next meeting, then please send via the link on this website and we will ensure it is discussed and record all the outputs via the minutes that will be published in this section.

We do hope you will find your way to one of the meetings as it would be fantastic to see some new Parents getting engaged with the school.
