Welcome

I would like to extend a warm welcome to Maltings Academy Sixth Form. As part of Witham 6 Forms, we work in partnership with New Rickstones Academy to provide our students with a wide range of over 45 subjects to study, both at A Level, BTEC levels 2 and 3 , OCR and City & Guilds qualifications in hairdressing and Football Coaching (FA Affiliated) and the Extended Project Qualification. We pride ourselves on providing important opportunities for our students to develop personal and leadership skills through special events, responsibilities in the Academy and work with the local community.

Maltings Academy is a very friendly community and we regularly recruit students into the sixth form from other secondary schools. I am very proud of our Sixth Formers' achievements, both in and out of the academy. As well as some exceptional results some of our students have recently been shortlisted for the Academy Excellence Awards, represented their country in national competitions and even performed at the Opening Ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Recent Results

We are very pleased with our most recent results. Congratulations to the Year 13 'Class of 2012' on another impressive year. At the end of our first year as a joint arrangement the A*-E pass rate was 98% with 19% A*-A grades. The A*-B figure was 35%.

A few notable results include:

Katherine Ginn - A in English, A in Photography, B in Psychology and Distinction in Media.

David Adams - A in Physics, A in Maths, B in Chemistry, B in Biology

Lucy Ellis - A in PE, Distinction* Distinction in BTEC Sport

Amie Humphries - A in Applied ICT, Double Distinction in Business Studies.
