Science Week at Maltings Academy

National Science and Engineering Week occurs every year and gives us the opportunity to celebrate anything to do with science, technology, engineering and maths. In the Maltings Science department we have taken the opportunity this year to do three things:

1 - All Key Stage 3 classes will have one lesson dedicated to a special science week activity. This could be investigating crazy ice cubes, building packaging for a cargo drop, making toffee or building a plane.
2 - All tutor groups will take part in a quiz and the winners of each tutor group given a chance to win a prize later on in the week.
3 - Every lunch time, one of the science teachers will carry out a demonstration which would not normally be done in class. This year they will include cannon fire, steam cannon and explosive reactions.
We hope that every student enjoys the week and get to see science in a different light.
