Post 16 Results 2016 - well done to the class of 2016.

Year 13 students from Witham Sixth Form eagerly opened their results at both sites after this summer’s exams.


A total of 49% of students’ results at the sixth form were the top grades of A* to B in their A-levels and equivalents. Almost all results – 97% - were A* to E grades and 70% were A* to C.


John Szynal, executive principal at Maltings and New Rickstones Academy, said the results will offer his students the brightest futures: “We are delighted with this year’s post-16 results. The students and staff can rightly feel proud of their achievements.

I am mostly pleased by the fact these good results give the youngsters greater choice for their next step in either employment or education as many doors will be open to them.

I would like to thank everyone for their tremendous effort in bringing this about and I wish all of the students all the best for their futures and every happiness in life.”

Of the sixth formers’ results, 75% based at New Rickstones earned A* to B grades, 89% scored A* to C and 97% achieved A* to E grades.

Damian Lee, head of academy at New Rickstones, said: “It’s extremely pleasing to see such good results and shows students hard work and effort has paid off.

“These results are my first as head of academy at New Rickstones and although I have only known Year 13 for one year, they have been a pleasure to work with and I wish them all the best with their future careers.

I would also like to acknowledge the hard work and support of their subject teachers in helping the students to achieve such high grades.


A total of 97% of students based at Maltings scored A* to E grades, while 63% achieved A* to C and 39% earned A* to B.

Emma Baker, head of academy at Maltings, said: We are really happy with this year’s results and credit must go to the students and staff for all their hard work.

We wish all of our students the very best for their futures and hope they stay in touch via our alumni network so they can share their knowledge and experiences with others in years to come.
