At Malting’s Academy, we offer both level 2 and level 3 Health and Social Care at Post 16. This is a successful subject that in its second year has attracted many students, all of who achieve outstanding results at the end of their course.

The courses are vocational by nature and students will be using placements, to support their coursework; the placement takes place every week. Although the assessment is mainly through coursework, you can tailor it to meet your area of interest, for example children, special needs. ICT is used to produce the coursework and this facilitates progression in student attainment.

The level 2 is a 1 year course that leads nicely into the level 3 which is an applied GCE and is 2 years; it is a double award and is worth 2 A levels.

The Health and Social Care team are Miss H Edwards (Course Leader), Miss C Lowe and Mr B Young.

This course has been very successful gaining excellent examination results, with all our students achieving university placements after their Level 3 course.
