The Academy believes that it is vitally important to encourage pupils to use their leisure time constructively.

Sports. 

There is a mixture of team and individual sports with opportunities in each for participation in clubs, practices or competitive matches against other schools.  For students more interested in exercise rather than competition there are opportunities in Aerobics, trampolining, dance and swimming.  The Academy has an excellent record in competitive sport against other schools locally and regionally in netball, athletics, rugby and football.

Arts

Extensive opportunities exist to take part in dramatic productions, musicals, bands. choirs, ensembles, dance productions and Drama classes.

Study

Opportunities exist before and after school to support work in the classroom. The Library is open from 8.00 in the morning and after school.  This gives students access to computer facilities as well as other learning resources.
